Why Paulownia?

After 50 years it comes as no surprise that Paulownia is our passion. Paulownia trees are not only beautiful in the springtime, but they are incredibly versatile as well. Paulownia wood is extremely lightweight, in fact, it is half the weight of pine and one-third of the weight of oak. Another appealing aspect is a Paulownia tree's maturity point. With a maturity point of 5 years, Paulownia trees grow rapidly when handled correctly. With heights easily exceeding 100 feet tall at five years, it is an excellent option if you're in the market to harvest Paulownia timber regularly. Strength is also a key factor when discussing Paulownia wood. For good reason, Paulownia has been dubbed the "aluminum of timber" and also holds the highest strength to weight ratio of any other wood in the world. Surprising to most, Paulownia wood is highly flame-resistant as well. With an ignition point of 400 degrees Celsius, this is much higher than most conventional hard and soft woods.

Here at GP Paulownia Plantation, we could talk about our trees all day. Above we listed a few of the many benefits Paulownia trees can offer, but there are still many to be discussed! We encourage anyone with questions or concerns to reach out. We would love to speak with you!
